dc.description.abstractThis module on the politics and foreign policy of Kazakhstan is intended to help students improve their knowledge of the political system of Kazakhstan and its foreign policy in Central Asia. The materials are drawn from the latest news reports, newspapers, magazines, and Internet sites, accessed June‑July 2012. By using this material, students can learn the terminology for reading about and discussing the politics and foreign policy of Kazakhstan. This page offers a review of relevant vocabulary background related to political institutions in the Republic of Kazakhstan and the United States. Modules 1-3 include reading and listening samples related to the foreign policy of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Finally, Module 4 offers supplementary texts for reading with vocabulary glosses.
