Hybrid ormosil (organic-inorganic) solutions can be used to coat float glass samples in order to increase their strength. The ormosil solution in this present work contains silane, epoxy resin and hardener based on Al-alkoxide. The glass samples were indented at their center in order to create artificial flaws. A dip coating process with a controlled withdrawing rate applied to the indented glass samples. In order to develop the best coatings, a number of parameters such as withdrawing rate, curing temperature were examined. It was determined that the optimum conditions were reached with 5 cm/min withdrawing rate, 200 degreesC for 1 hour curing time and temperature.
