Bioglue is an organic surgical adhesive, which use has already been well established in cardiothoracic surgery for aortic and bronchopulmonary fistula surgery. It has also been used in neurosurgical procedures to minimize the risk of cerebrospinal fluid leak. In this report, the authors present an acute mass formation of Bioglue, which was applied after spinal cerebro spinal fluid leakage, which is reported for the first time. A 56-year-old woman was operated for L5-S1 disc herniation. Owing to an intraoperative dural tear, the necessary dural repair was reinforced with Bioglue. However, worsening of sciatica in the immediate postoperative period was observed. Follow-up lumbar magnetic resonance imaging obtained on the postoperative day 2 showed a mass lesion in the site of the surgery. Immediate reoperation revealed mass formation of Bioglue, compressing the spinal roots. After total resection of the mass, the patients' complaints completely resolved.
