dc.description.abstractObjective: In this study, we wanted to investigate the influence of variables such as age, gender, number of admissions, and units that hospitalized patients, on the duration of hospital stays of 241,341 patients who admitted to Cerrahpasa Faculty Hospital between March 2000 and February 2009. We tried to assess the relative contributions of short and long stay patients to overall occupancy rates. We also assessed the risk relating to prolonged admission.
