Oromandibular dystonia (OMD) is a rare focal dystonia characterized by involuntary contraction Of masticatory and tongue muscles. Besides oral medication, local anesthetics and alcohol application, injection of botulinum toxin type A (BT-A) to the affected muscles may be used in the treatment of OMD. In this article, effects of combined treatment of BT-A injection and dry needling are discussed in a case of OMD with involuntary contraction in bilateral masseter and lateral pterygoid muscles who has not responded to any other treatment.
