dc.description.abstractBackground. Nosocomial infections can lead to complications in the patients admitted to neurosurgery intensive care units. The most common causes are ventriculitis, shunt infections, meningitis, surgical wound infections, urinary tract infections, pneumonia, intravascular catheter related to infections and gastrointestinal infections.
