DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS IN CONSERVATIVE DENTISTRY
Abstract
The minimal invasive approach is the conservation of the noncavitated carious lesion of enamel and dentin. For this reasons its 'important to detect the lesions, clinically at the early, noncavitated stage. Clinical caries diagnosis is caries detection, risk assessment and determination of preventive measures. The ideal method or tool for caries diagnosis of carious lesions would be noninvasive, simple, reliable, valid, sensitive, specific, robust measurements of lesion size and activity, and be based on biologic processes directly related on the carious process.
