dc.description.abstract | The stagnant water conditions for a long time caused a thick and heterogen biofilm formation on thesurfaces. Due to the impact of consortium of different bacterial groups in the biofilm, the paint layerwas damaged locally, and steel was corroded in these areas. Bacteria of the sulfur-, iron-, andmanganese-cycles played a major role in this phenomenon. | |
