For a better perception of metropolises, it is necessary to get closer to the city and change the point of view when looking at the objects. The study aims to make the dwelling pluralities in the city visible by examining the dwelling practices in the metropolises through Slavoj Žižek's architectural parallax concept forming the conceptual basis of this study. The parallax view brings the immanent plurality and diversity of the object to light. In the study, the parallax view is used as a tool to make in-between space in the city and the dwelling practices of others, who are the subjects of these spaces, visible. The methodology of the study developed the concept pair of antecedent space / consequent space based on the parallax view to evaluate the sample. In-between spaces are made visible with the parallax view are evaluated through the spandrel concept. When the dwelling practices of a city are examined, focusing on the spandrel spaces that have sprung up everywhere in metropolises alongside conventional dwelling areas will provide concrete findings. Naturally emergent dwelling areas under the superhighway in China, the Pearl River Delta (one of the densest urbanization areas and the most important industrial centers in the world), and Guangzhou are addressed. With the analyzed sample the study found that metropolises, which prefer to grow eternally, tend to grow inward, that is, towards their own spandrels, as a method. The parallax view reveals the tension between the antecedent and consequent space practices in the bridge spandrel, which grows indifferent to the antecedent rational function of the bridge. The revolutionary potential of the bridge spandrel is underlined, which reacts to the city's commoditized understanding of residence with the purest form of shelter.
