Abstract

This Study includes a descriptive analysis of articles which are write by the academicians on the psychology of religion and published in domestic refereed journals. In this context, all articles published in journals from January 2016 to December 2019 have been scanned and efforts have been made to find all articles on psychology of religion. For this purpose, a multi-layered screening activity was initiated. The articles were classified and analyzed in terms of the number of authors, the language of publication, whether or not they were produced from the thesis, as well as their method. As a result of the screening, 158 studies were determined to meet the criteria quantitative method was preferred in 77 studies. 13 of them are scale development studies. While qualitative method was preferred in 25 studies involving interviews, 50 studies were carried out with theoretical method. 89 articles included in the framework were written by one author, 54 articles by two authors, and 3 articles by more than two authors. While 13 of the articles were written in English, the remaining 135 articles were written in Turkish. Finally, it was understood that 22 of the articles were obtained from the master's thesis and 13 of them were from the doctoral thesis. A special title is opened in this section for topics written about 5 or more articles. All in all; the titles of ''demographic variables'', ''worship psychology'', ''belief psychology'', ''spirituality'', ''religious coping'', ''imagination of God'', ''positive psychological state'', ''negative psychological state'', ''life satisfaction'', ''positive and negative psychological state'', ''value-virtue'', ''mystical experience'', ''MDR'', ''family'', ''religious development'', ''religious social psychology'' and ''scale development'' were opened and the contents of these articles were introduced and analyzed. In addition, the 'other' title has been opened for studies on topics with less than 5 articles. As a result, it was understood that many studies on conducted in some titles, but research was needed in some titles. On the other hand, while some titles findings are in line with the findings of previous studies, some changes have been detected over time in some titles.
