dc.description.abstractWhatever the subject taught or learned is it is clear that the teacher is one of the most important participants in the process of teaching. Therefore the training and the process of training the teachers are particularly important. Based on this idea, the main target of this work is to present and study the training conditions of French language teachers in Turkey and their profiles on one hand, and on the other hand to compare them with those of some of the European Union countries according the frame of reference. In the Turkish university system, to become a professor of any foreign language, with a degree of high school, candidate students study in general 1+4years of license, total of 5 years then. Despite all this time of studies, the results are not always homogeneous, namely the future teachers of French do not always have the highest levels in all necessary skills. Thereby a comparative study of the process of training and profiles of students would be useful to identify likely gaps. Within the framework of this research European Profile for Language Teacher Education and Reports to the European Commission will be also studied.
