The concentration of organotinn compounds was determined in different brands of canned fish available on the Turkish market by means of GC-FPD. Cans of sardine, anchovy, pelamide and trout were tested. The compounds that presented higher concentrations were TBT ranging from 0.1 to 18.659 mug/kg. The necessity of enhanced systematic measurements for monitoring pollutants in fish from Turkish waters thus becomes evident.
