dc.description.abstractLarge amounts of coffee residues contaminate the environment and reprocessing of them as valuable products such as adsorbents will be a good solution from an environmental and economic point of view. In this study some adsorbents were produced from coffee residues and used for batch removal experiments of uranium from aqueous solutions. The adsorption kinetics was found to follow the Lagergren equation. The adsorption process was described with the Langmuir and Freundlich isotherms. Additionally, the effect of different cations on the adsorption of uranium was studied.
